Windows into George Town

Each time I walk by the historic shophouses in George Town, I find myself drawn to the windows. They create an image in my mind of what the streets looked like over a century ago. An image I want to capture in photos and in drawings.

Beautiful pictures! The half open windows inspire questions: who built the shop houses? Are they empty now? What are they like inside? Are they in the same area as the tiled walkways? I would love to hear more.

I think it important to mention here the Portuguese heritage of these shop houses. Without that influence they wouldn't existe here or in many of the coastal areas of South East Asia.
