...is the oldest Anglican church in Southeast Asia - completed in 1818.
When I did this quick sketch sometime in April, the church was in the process of getting a restoration permit. Right now, St. George's Church is hidden behind scaffolding as it undergoes a serious face-lift. The architect who works on this project told me that the phase 1 restoration is expected to be done by end of this year. If all goes smoothly, we can expect another striking, restored gem in Penang, open to the public in 2011.
