Eating like a real local in Penang

(Jump to the "Ready to Eat in George Town" LIST)
(Jump to the "Ready to Eat in Penang" VIDEO series)

Confession - Before this year, I was probably the last person you would want to ask for recommendations on where to eat in Penang. I have to blame my mom for my lack of knowledge about eating out after she pampered my sisters and me with amazing, home-cooked, Malaysian dishes three times a day - okay, maybe five times a day.

However, it’s a different story today. I've investigated, meandered, and wore through pair after pair of shoes, on my crash course in the ever-changing food scene of Penang.

The good news?  I have been able to buy a new pair of shoes every two months.  Even better news?  We found ourselves with a bunch of eating-out information, which we’ve happily tidied up to share with you.

But before you go to this eating list, here's a little visual preview...
Hungry now?  Okay, time to click over to the “Ready to Eat in George Town?!” list and start exploring!

We completely understand if you want to just stuff your face, but if you are interested in a little background on Penang food, click here.

Reese,

Such torture... if I could only pop half way around the world, stuff my face and then pop back.

Everything looks yummy.

We know how you feel. We are actually living in the US now, so we are missing Penang food as much as you. We've stopped posting on Capturing Penang for now (at least until we make a return trip), but you can still find us posting Malaysian recipes on our site, Season with Spice. Best, Reese & Mark
