I can't believe it has been a year already since the last George Town Festival - a month of theatre, music, dance, film, art, opera, food, fashion, photography - as well as a variety of heritage events - to celebrate George Town's history and culture.
At this time last year, Mark & I were busy helping out on the George Town Festival team. However, my role has changed this year to a performer in the site specific performance - River Meets Light - on July 29 & 30 at Prangin Canal. I hope to see you all there!
For those of you in Penang from July 1-31, there will be plenty to keep you busy. This year's festival has a budget of more than double from the prior year, so there will be more than 80 programmes featured, including many well known international performers. The heritage celebration, entitled Tapestry of Cultures, has also expanded from one day to three days - July 7, 8, & 9 - to accommodate the number of events.
We will Tweet about upcoming events every few days, which you can find on the sidebar of Capturing Penang, but for the overall programme and calendar, please see the documents below (the programme may take a minute to load before you can scroll).
